Women's Basketball Team Rebounds With 80-69 Victory Over Ferrum
The
Piedmont College women's basketball team rebounded to earn a split in
the InnKeeper Turkey Shootout at Methodist University this afternoon
with an 80-69 non-conference victory over Ferrum College. Nikki Sosebee
led three Lady Lions in double-figures with a team-high 17 points.
Piedmont jumed out early and held a 15-point advantage (45-30) at intermission.
FC would rally and cut into the lead but Piedmont would ice its second
victory of the season by shooting 18-24 from the free throw line.
Sheena Trimiar added 14 points and four steals while Yetta Bailey contributed
with 10 points and six rebounds. Sarah Lane came off the bench to add
nine points and eight rebounds.
For her efforts, Trimiar was voted to the All-Tournament team.
The victory moves Piedmont to 2-3 overall on the season. The team will
return to action on Wednesday, November 29 at home versus Wesleyan College
in the team's Great South Athletic Conference opener.
