Lions Come Up Short In 70-64 Loss At Ferrum
The
Piedmont College men's basketball team found itself trailing by 11 points
at halftime for the second consecutive game but could not overcome tournament
host Ferrum College as the Lions fell 70-64 on the second day of the
USA-South/Great South Tip-Off Classic in Ferrum, VA.
Piedmont opened the second half with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 39
and held a five-point advantage (48-43) with 12:42 remaining.
Jake Baldwin posted his first double-double of the season with 23 points
and 10 rebounds in only 18 minutes of action. Wes Parker added 13 points
while Jake Green continued his solid point guard play with seven points,
eight assists, and seven rebounds.
For his efforts, Baldwin was voted to the All-Tournament team.
Piedmont will play its third straight USA-South Athletic Conference
opponent on Sunday, November 26th when the Lions play host to Methodist
University at 4:00 in the Lions' home-opener.
