The
Piedmont College men's soccer team never trailed top-seeded Maryville
College this afternoon and rolled to the 2006 Great South Athletic Conference
men's soccer championship by the score of 4-2. Drew Griffin led the
Lions with his second consecutive hat-trick while senior George Sandi
added three assists.
Griffin found the

to Chad Davis and George Sandi. Maryville scored before intermission
to enter the half with the score 2-1.
Creasy recorded
his first goal of the season which proved to be the game-winner at the
56th minute on Sandi's second assist of the day. Maryville brought the
score back to 3-2 but Piedmont found an insurance goal eight minutes
later as Griffin and Sandi connected again and guided the Lions to the
two-goal victory.
