Volleyball Team Defeats Agnes Scott On Senior Night

In the final home match of the regular season the Piedmont College volleyball team recognized its three senior players and then defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent Agnes Scott College by the score of 30-15, 30-19 and 30-9. Maja Ostojic, Mandi Harmon, and Jacque DeMarrais were recognized prior to the start of the match for their four years of service to the Lady Lions volleyball team.

Meghann Clark led the offense recording 15 kills while DeMarrais added 12 kills and Nikki Cole chipped in with eight kills. Libero Jill Sparger notched 10 digs while Harmon recorded six digs and a pair of aces.

After cruising through the first two games the Lady Lions put the match out of reach in the third game when Tyler Baldonado rattled off 12 consecutive points on serve including four service aces. The women committed only 10 errors the entire match and gained 14 total aces on serve.

The victory improves PC to 19-9 overall and 7-3 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women also completed a perfect 5-0 record at home for the year. The women will compete in the Centre College Halloween Bash starting Saturday, October 28th at 11:00.
