Men's Soccer Team Wraps Up GSAC Regular Season Runner-Up Finish
The
Piedmont College men's soccer team completed their 2006 regular season
tonight with a 4-1 victory over Great South Athletic Conference host
LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. The Lions took a 1-0 lead into the
half and added three more goals to seal second place outright for the
regular season in league play.
After 33 scoreless
minutes freshman Jeremy Stille found the back of the net on an assist
from Rob Nix to take the 1-0 advantage. Twelve minutes into the second
half Josh Seabrook scored his first goal of the night and a pass from
Alan Creasy.
After LaGrange scored
to get within one, the duo of Seabrook and Creasy combined again a mere
three minutes later. Drew Griffin scored an insurance goal with four
minutes left in regulation on Creasy's third assist of the night.
The victory moves
Piedmont to 9-7 overall and 4-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference.
The Lions will enter the GSAC tournament as the second seed and will
play Huntingdon College on Friday, November 3rd in Maryville, TN. starting
at 7:00.
