Volleyball Team Wins Two Of Three At Final GSAC Round Robin Weekend
In
the final Great South Athletic Conference round robin weekend of the
season, the Piedmont College volleyball team traveled to Maryville College
and won two out of three matches. The women will complete GSAC play
this Wednesday, October 25th in their final home match of the season
against Agnes Scott College starting at 6:30.
On Saturday the
Lady Lions defeated Spelman College in straight sets 30-13, 30-18 and
30-13 but turned around and fell to Huntingdon College 30-25, 26-30,
20-30 and 22-30. This afternoon the Lady Lions defeated LaGrange College
in straight sets 30-20, 30-23 and 30-20 to improve to 18-9 overall and
6-3 in conference play.
In the three matches
freshman Nikki Cole led the Piedmont offense with a weekend total of
27 kills. Setter Tyler Baldonado tallied 96 assists while libero Jill
Sparger earned 36 total digs.
Jacque DeMarrais
and Sarah Lane chipped in with 26 and 24 kills respectively while Meghann
Clark added 17 kills.
