Women's Soccer Team Drops GSAC Decision At Agnes Scott
After
winning two consecutive Great South Athletic Conference matches, the
Piedmont College women's soccer team fell to host Agnes Scott this evening
in Decatur, GA by the score of 3-1. The Scotties scored at the second
minute of the match and never relenquished the lead dropping PC to 6-8-2
overall and 5-5-1 in Great South play.
After taking a 1-0
lead into intermission ASC struck again a mere six minutes into the
second half. Katie Porter was able to bring the Lady Lions within a
goal with an unassisted goal at the 61st minute. Agnes Scott found an
insurance goal just three minutes later and held on to the two goal
advantage until the conclusion of the match.
Piedmont threatened
throught the match outshooting their opponents 7-5 and holding the corner
kick advantage 6-2. Porter and junior Haley Boyce had the most opportunities
recording three shots on goal apiece.
The women will conclude
the regular season on Monday, October 23rd as they travel to Great South
Athletic Conference host Wesleyan College in Macon, GA for a make up
game starting at 7:00.
