Women's Soccer Team Posts Shutout At Huntingdon
The
Piedmont College women's soccer team's offense took over this afternoon
at Great South Athletic Conference host Huntingdon College with a 7-0
shutout victory. The women scored three first half goals and then tacked
on four second half goals en route to the league victory.
Caitlin Hurd notched
her second career game-winning goal at the third minute on an assist
from Anna Darvish and Katie Porter and Mary Ann Alexander both found
the back of the net before intermission. In the second half the women
scored three goals in the span of two minutes with Samantha Graham recording
a goal and Porter notching two for the hat-trick. Katie Corley added
the team's final goal at the 80th minute unassisted.
Between the posts
Erin Porter gained her fifth shutout of the season and her fourth in
conference play with a pair of saves.
The win improves
the team to 6-7-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference.
The women will return to the field again on Tuesday, October 17th as
they travel to conference foe Wesleyan College in Macon, GA with kick
off set for 7:00.
