Men's Soccer Team Breezes Past Huntingdon
For
the second consecutive time the Piedmont College men's soccer team shutout
Great South Athletic Conference opponent Huntingdon College this afternoon
in Montgomery, AL by the score of 6-0. The men scored five unanswered
goals in the first half and tacked on a second half goal en route to
victory.
George Sandi notched
the eventual game-winning goal at the third minute as his shot deflected
off a Huntingdon player into the back of the net. Drew Griffin recorded
the next two goals at the 12th and the 21st minutes and Josh Seabrook
added a goal at the 22nd minute on an assist from Jeremy Stille.
Griffin reached
the hat trick for the third time this season at the 39th minute and
Rob Nix added a goal in the second half. Patrick Ratigan gained his
third shutout of the season with all three coming in conference play.
The men move to
an even 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference.
The men will return to action again on Monday, October 16th in their
final home match of the season against visiting non-conference opponent
Hampden-Sydney College starting at 3:00.
