Lynne Laseter Sets New Single-Round School Record

The host Piedmont College women's golf team carded a team score of 364 and finished in sixth place out of seven teams at the Apple Mountain Fall Invitational this afternoon in Clarkesville, GA. The team score is the second lowest score ever for the program as Lynne Laseter led the way by setting a new single-round school record with an eight-over 80.

Laseter's record round included a pair of triple-bogeys, but the sophomore rallied to birdie her 18th hole of the day to card the new record. Tiffany Foster and Grace Faulkner added career-lows of 91 and 95 respectively. Tatiana DeJiacomo rounded out the team scoring with a 98 while Ashley Rutledge posted an even 100 in her first career college round.

Oglethorpe University, ranked #16 nationally in NCAA Division-III, won the event with a team score of 314. OU edged out Methodist "B" Gold by virtue of the fifth player score.

Piedmont will return to action on October 16-17 when the team travels to Rome, GA to take part in the Stonebridge Women's Invitational hosted by Berry College at Stonebridge Golf Course.
