Cross Country Teams Participate At Georgia State Invitational

Despite having multiple runners injured and unable to compete, the Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams competed this morning at the Georgia State University Invitational held in Atlanta, GA. The race marked the second time this season that the teams have competed in an event hosted by an NCAA Division-I institution.

For the women Jennifer Gathercoal led the squad with a 5K time of 24:35, while Hayler Keller was second for PC with a time of 26:57. As a team the Lady Lions finished in 2:16:54, a 38 minute improvement from the last meet.

On the men's side Jordan Hubbard led the Lions with an 8K time of 33:28 while Wally Smith and Alex Edwards came across the line in 36:13 and 36:52 respectively. PC recorded a team mark of 3:13:39.

The teams will return to action again on Saturday, October 14th in the Southern Cross Country Challenge in Marietta, GA starting at 9:00.
