Men's Golf Team Finishes 13th Among Nationally Elite

The Piedmont College men's golf team carded a 310-312--622 which was good for 13th place at the Greensboro College Pride Fall Invitational held at Meadowlands Golf Course in Winston-Salem, NC. The Lions finished one spot behind the nation's preseason #1 ranked team Oglethorpe University in a field that featured 10 teams ranked in last season's top-20 national rankings.

The Lions got off to slow starts on both days but managed to rebound and hold onto the 13th spot. After turning the front nine at 14-over and 17-over on both days the squad rebounded to play the back nine 8-over and 5-over respectively as a team.

Andy Cartwright continued his solid play with a 73-77--150 which was good for a tie for 35th in the 91-player field.

Piedmont will return to action on October 16-17 when the team travels to Rome, GA to take part in the Chic-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College at Coosa Country Club.
