Women's Soccer Team Earns Third Straight GSAC Victory
For
the third straight Great South Athletic Conference match, the Piedmont
College women's soccer team was victorious defeating visiting Wesleyan
College this evening by the score of 4-0 at PC's Walker Field. Katie
Porter led the charge by scoring three first half goals and recording
her second hat-trick of the season.
Porter struck the
eventual game-winning goal unassisted at the 3rd minute and followed
up with a second goal on an assist from Caitlin Delvasto at the 24th
minute. Just six minutes before halftime Porter struck her third on
an assist from Samantha Graham.
In the second half,
teammate Jennifer Osborne tacked on an insurance goal with the assist
coming from Anna Darvish at the 46th minute. Goalkeeper Erin Porter
continued her dominance between the posts and chalked up her third shutout
of the season with three saves.
The victory moves
Piedmont to 4-5-1 overall and 3-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference.
The women will return to action again on Friday, September 29th as they
face off against visiting Agnes Scott College at Walker Field starting
at 7:30.
