Griffin Leads Men's Soccer Team To Victory At Toccoa Falls
With
an impressive four goals for the second straight match Drew Griffin
led the Piedmont College men's soccer team past host Toccoa Falls College
tonight in Toccoa, GA by the score of 7-2. The Lions took control early
scoring three goals in the first 21 minutes and then tacking on four
insurance goals after intermission to cruise to the five-goal victory.
The victory moves
PC to an even 4-4 overall and drops Toccoa Falls to 5-4-1 on the year.
The Lions will look for their third straight win this Saturday, September
23rd as they resume Great South Athletic Conference play against visiting
Huntingdon College at Walker Field starting at 3:30.
Griffin got the
Lions on the board at the 4th minute and Srecko Trupina added a goal
of his own just one minute later. After TFC moved within one goal at
the 16th minute, Griffin notched the eventual game-winner at the 21st
minute.
Despite a Toccoa
Falls goal at the 49th minute, Trupina and Jorge Pradilla added solo
goals and Griffin struck twice more to cushion the lead. Jeremy Stille
chipped in with three assists and between the posts Patrick Ratigan
recorded seven saves on nine shots.
