Behind a high-powered offense, the Piedmont College men's soccer team
defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference member LaGrange College
tonight by the score of 9-0 at Walker Field. In front of a capacity
crowd, men kept the ball on the offensive side of midfield for the majority
of the game and outshot their opponents 22-5.
The Lions struck
early and often as Drew Griffin notched the first and eventual game-winning
goal on an assist from George Sandi at the 6th minute. Jorge Pradillo
tallied the next two goals on assists from Rob Nix and Josh Seabrook
at the 12th and 14th minute. Seabrook, Pradillo and Griffin notched
three more goals before intermission.
One minute into
the second half Griffin struck the hat trick goal, matching Pradillo
in the first half, and then scored a fourth at the 74th minute. Josh
Mitchem recorded his first-collegiate goal at the 79th minute on an
assist from Alan Creasy.
Between the posts
Patrick Ratigan notched his first shutout of the season saving four
shots.

PC to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The
men will return to the field again on Thursday, September 21st as they
travel to non-conference Toccoa Falls College with start time set for
7:00 in Toccoa, GA.
