Women's Golf Team Finishes Fifth At Piedmont College Fall Invitational

The Piedmont College women's golf team continues to rewrite the record books as the Lady Lions posted the school's best-ever 36-hole totals en route to a fifth place finish at their own Piedmont College Fall Invitational at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park in Rutledge, GA. The team carded scores of 380-389--769 which was good for fifth place out of six schools.

Lynne Laster again led the way for Piedmont with an 85-94--179 which was good for a tied for 13th place out of 33 golfers. The tournament marked the second consecutive time this season that she has earned the team's medalist honors.

Tatiana DeJiacomo posted a tournament score of 95-91--186 which put her in 20th place for her second straight top-20 finish. Tiffany Foster (95-99--194, 22nd) and Grace Faulkner (105-105--210, 26th) rounded out the scoring for the young Lady Lions.

Shorter College won the event with a team score of 337-326--663 finishing 24 shots ahead of runner-up Methodist College "B". Shorter's Daniela Vargas was crowned tournament medalist with a 78-72--150.

Piedmont will return to action on October 9 as the team plays host to the Apple Mountain Fall Invitational at Apple Mountain Resort in Clarkesville, GA.
