Women's Soccer Team Drops GSAC Decision At Maryville

allowing 20 shots on goal the Piedmont College women's soccer team fell
to conference host Maryville College in Maryville, TN this afternoon
5-1. The Lady Lions could not get anything going on offense gaining
only four shots on goal.
Maryville took a
2-0 lead into halftime and PC responded to pull within a goal at the
65th minute as Caitlin Hurd scored on an assist from Anna Darvish. MC
responded with three goals in the final 23 minutes to cruise to victory.
In goal Erin Porter
tallied 15 saves in only her second match between the posts. Katie Porter
recorded three shots on goal but could not find the back of the net.
PC drops to 1-4-1
overall and 0-2 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will
look to rebound Tuesday, September 19th as they host conference opponent
LaGrange College at Walker Field starting at 5:30.
