Piedmont Earns Weekend Split With Victory At Sewanee
After
dropping their fourth match of the season last night in its conference
opener at Maryville College, the Piedmont College volleyball team rebounded
to defeat non-conference host University of the South this afternoon
30-21, 30-26, 26-30, 28-30 and 15-8. The contest marks the first five-game
match for PC this year as the Lady Lions are a perfect 3-0 in all matches
that last more than three sets.
Setter B.J. Ostrzycki
recorded a season-high 49 assists and senior Jacque DeMarrais also notched
a season-high with 23 kills. Meghann Clark and Nikki Cole also chipped-in
with 12 and 10 kills respectively and libero Jill Sparger tallied 18
digs.
The victory moves
Piedmont to 7-4 overall. The Lady Lions will return to action again
on Wednesday, September 20th as they travel to Great South Athletic
Conference member Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA scheduled to begin
at 6:00.
