Men's Soccer Team Falls In Conference Season-Opener

By allowing a pair of goals in the first half and an insurance goal in the second half the Lions dropped their first Great South Atheltic Conference match of the season to host Maryville College today in Maryville, TN by the score of 3-1. PC managed to get seven shots on goal but could only find the net once en route to the defeat.

Josh Seabrook scored the lone goal for Piedmont on an assist from Drew Griffin at the 85th minute but it was too little to late as Maryville had cushioned a three goal advantage. Despite only allowing eight shots on goal MC made them count and recorded the 3-1 victory.

The Lions drop to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. PC will return home to take on conference foe LaGrange College on Tuesday, September 19th at Walker Field with game time scheduled for 7:30.
