PC Women's Golf Team Earns Runner-Up Finish At University of the South Fall Invitational

The Piedmont College women's golf team opened up the 2006-2007 season this afternoon with a record-setting performance at the University of the South Fall Invitational held at Bear Trace at Tim's Ford State Park in Winchester, TN. The Lady Lions set a new school-record team score of 358 en route to a runner-up finish in the three-team event.

The team score of 358 broke the previous school record of 366 set last season and marked the first time in the three-year school history that a team score featured four scores under 100. The new school record was set by a team featuring one sophomore and three freshmen.

Nationally-ranked Oglethorpe University won the event with a 337 and tournament host Sewanee finished third with a 401.

PC's Lynne Laseter finished in a tie for medalist with an 83 (+11) while teammate Tatiana DeJiacomo joined her on the All-Tournament team after carding an 84 (+12). Tiffany Foster recorded a 92 including a 43 on the back side while Gracie Faulkner rounded out the Lady Lions' scoring with a 99 (+27).

Piedmont will return to action on September 17-18 as the team plays host to the 2006 Piedmont College Fall Invitational at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park in Rutledge, GA.
