Piedmont Downs Toccoa Falls In 2006 Home-Opener

In its 2006 home-opener, the Piedmont College volleyball team defeated visiting non-conference opponent Toccoa Falls College 30-14, 30-13 and 30-20 tonight in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center. The Lady Lions recorded a season-high 15 service aces en route to the victory.

Jacque DeMarrais and Meghann Clark led the way with 13 kills apiece and setter B.J. Ostrzycki tallied 23 assists in two games played. Sarah Lane added eight kills and Tyler Baldonado added 11 assists. Ostryzcki, Lane and Baldonado all chipped in four service aces.

The victory moves PC to 3-2 overall. The Lady Lions will return to the court again on Friday, September as they compete in the Greensboro College Invitational in Greensboro, NC. Piedmont will face Meredith College at 2:00 and then take on host Greensboro College at 6:00.
