Season Ends With GSAC Tournament Loss To LaGrange
The Piedmont College baseball team saw its 2007 campaign come to an
end with a 7-2 loss at the hands of LaGrange College in the Great South
Athletic Conference Tournament in Maryville, TN. The Lions committed
a season-high four errors and could only muster five hits in the loss.
PC took an early
1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single from Andy House. The
Panthers trailed momentarily until they notched a single run in the
first and tacked on four runs in the second. After LC increased their
lead with two runs in the seventh PC manufactured a single run in the
eighth but could not overcome the deficit.
Andy House led the
Lions offense going 2-3 with a pair of RBI's. Travis Hunt, Trey McCay
and Justin Vorherr chipped in with a single apiece. Freshman Josh McEachin
pitched one and two-thirds of an inning allowing no runs while striking
out two.
PC finishes the
year with an overall mark of 19-23.
