Team Wins Seventh Consecutive GSAC Championship
For a remarkable seventh straight time the Piedmont College men's tennis
team hoisted the Great South Athletic Conference trophy with a 5-1 victory
over third-seeded Maryville College this afternoon in Montgomery, AL.
The Lions won two of the three doubles matches and the first three singles
matches en route to the victory.
For his efforts
Joey Leonardo was named the GSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. Leonardo
won the deciding match by the scores of 6-1 and 6-1 to lead PC to the
championship.
The Lions finish the season with an overall record of 8-10.
