Women's Golf Team Posts Program's First-Ever Tournament Title
The
Piedmont College women's golf team earned the program's first ever tournament
title as the Lady Lions won the Young Harris College Spring Invitational
at The Ridges Resort in Hayesville, NC. In addition to the team title
the Lady Lions earned the top three individual honors.
The conditions were the most difficult of the season for the Lady Lions
as the first day of competition ended with snow showers while the final
day of play was made worse with winds up to 45 miles per hour. Piedmont
was the only team able to complete a four-person team score in the brutal
conditions.
The Lady Lions will wrap up the 2006-2007 season by taking part in the
Methodist University Lady Monarch Spring Invitational April 21-22. The
36-hole tournament will be hosted by the defending NCAA Division-III
National Champion MU women's golf team.
