Women's Golf Team Shows Improvement Against Nationally-Ranked Field

The Piedmont College women's golf team finished 23rd at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational held this weekend at Indian Mounds Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. The 23-team field featured all teams ranked in the nation's top-80 teams.

Piedmont posted team scores of 407-394-385--1,186 breaking the school record for 54-hole team totals. The team score bettered the previous school record by 117 strokes.

Lynne Laseter led the Lady Lions with a 45th place finish out of 125 golfers with a 93-83-88--264. Tiffany Foster and Grace Faulkner each improved their scores on all three days with 103-97-91--291 and 108-101-95--304 respectively.

The Lady Lions will return to action on April 15-16 when they travel to Hayesville, NC to take part in the Young Harris College Invitational.
