Men's Golf Team Finishes 22nd Against Nationally-Ranked Field

The Piedmont College men's golf team finished 22nd out of 24 teams at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational contested on The Oleander Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club. The national caliber field consisted of 22 of the 24 teams ranked in the nation's top-100 teams.

Piedmont posted team scores of 327-321-320--968 and finished 11 strokes ahead of the University of the South. PC's Matt Howell was the Lions' top finisher with a 54-hole total of 78-75-77--230 which was good for a tie for 45th out of 132 golfers.

Top-ranked Methodist University led from start to finish to claim the team title.

The Lions will return to action on March 30 through April 1 when they travel to Jacksonville, NC to take part in the 36th Annual Marine Corps Intercollegiate held at Camp LeJeune.
