Visiting
Emory Pounds Lion Baseball Team 15-0
It was all #19 nationally
ranked Emory University this afternoon as the visiting Eagles handed
the Piedmont College baseball team its worst loss of the season by the
score of 15-0 at Loudermilk Field. EU pounded out 21 hits while the
Lions could only muster a pair of hits and never had a runner reach
third base.
The Eagles scored
in all but two innings and never trailed en route to the 15-run victory.
Ian Ganzer recorded the victory on the mound carrying a no-hitter for
5 1/3 innings before Travis Hunt broke it up with a single up the middle.
Cole Spedale recorded
the only other PC hit in the bottom of the ninth on an infield single.
The Lions were able to get a lone runner into scoring position in the
third inning, but grounded into a double play to end the threat.
The loss drops PC
to 9-15 overall. The Lions will complete the three-game weekend series
tomorrow, March 25th as they travel to Atlanta, GA with game time slated
for 2:00.
