Women's Golf Team Opens 2007 Spring Season With Runner-Up Finish

The Piedmont College women's golf team opened up its 2007 spring semester tournament schedule with a runner-up finish in the three-team PC Spring Triangular held today at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park in Rutledge, GA. Piedmont's Lynne Laseter earned medalist honors with an 11-over par 83 which was good for first in the 14-player field.

Rhodes College earned team honors with a 392 finishing three strokes ahead of runner up PC with a 395. Hollins University rounded out the field with a 602.

Laseter trailed runner-up Melissa Galligan of Rhodes by five shots at the turn before carding a two-over 38 on the back side to earn the one stroke victory.

The Lions will return to action on March 18-19 when they host the Piedmont College Spring Invitational at The Creek at Hard Labor State Park in Rutledge, GA.
