Men’s
Basketball Team Runs Away From SEBC
The Piedmont College
men’s basketball team used a late 7-0 in the final minute of the
first half to pull away from the host Sabers of Southeastern Bible College
and eventually score a 114-83 non-conference victory in Birmingham,
AL. Jake Baldwin led five players in double-figures with a game-high
35 points.
Holding a slim 45-41
lead with just over a minute remaining in the first half, Piedmont scored
seven unanswered points capped by Wes Parker’s basket as the horn
sounded to take a 52-41 lead into intermission.
Piedmont opened
up the second half with another 9-2 run and would eventually pull away
for the Lions’ 13th victory of the season. Parker added a season-high
16 points while Michael Adams added 11 points and Jake Green and Michael
Rubio netted 10 points apiece. All of Rubio’s points came in the
second half. Baldwin rounded out his 11th double-double of the season
with a team-best 11 rebounds.
Piedmont will
complete the two-game road trip with a non-conference road game at Pensacola
Christian College with tip-off set for 7:30 PM CST.
