Men's Basketball Team Rolls Past Atlanta Christian 98-65
The Piedmont College
men's basketball team evened its overall record at 8-8 tonight as it
cruised to a 98-65 victory over non-conference visitor Atlanta Christian
College in Cave Arena. PC was dominant on both ends of the court connecting
on 10-17 three-pointers while forcing 21 turnovers en route to victory.
TheCchargers held
their only lead of the game early in the first half at 8-7 but PC went
on a 24-7 run to build a comfortable lead. After taking a 45-25 score
into intermission the Lions extended their lead to as many as 35 before
time ran out.
Junior Jake Baldwin
continued his impressive season with a game-high 31 points and a team-high
eight rebounds. Senior Mike Adams added 27 points including 4-6 from
behind the tri-fecta while freshman Chuck McCoy and Branden Mayweather
added a combined 18 points. It was a complete team effort as thirteen
of fourteen Lions recorded points. Jake Green dished out 12 assists
in the win while Wes Miller and Tyler Whitlock each pulled down six
rebounds.
ACC was led by Anthony
Snell who led three teammates in double-figures with 19 points. Joe
Rawlings and Stacy Williams added 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Lions will compete
again on Saturday, January 18th as they travel to Great South Athletic
Conference host LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA with game time slated
for 4:00.
