Men's Basketball Team Breezes To Non-Conference Victory

After dropping the first game back from the holiday break, the Piedmont College men's basketball team got back to its winning ways tonight against visiting non-conference opponent Pensacola Christian College with a decisive 93-80 victory. The Lions did not score a basket for the final four minutes of the game but still produced the largest regulation point total of the season.

The visiting Eagles started out hot and held a 7-2 lead after the first minute of the game. The Lions retook the lead for good just two minutes later and entered the half with a 15-5 run and a 54-42 lead. In the second half PC extended their lead as much as 25 points and cruised to the 13-point victory.

Jake Baldwin led the way for Piedmont with a game high 31 points and nine rebounds, four of which were offensive. Mike Adams posted 22 points while Jake Green and Wesley Parker both notced 10 points apiece. Michael Rubio posted a season and career-high nine points including a pair of three-pointers off the bench.

The victory moves Piedmont to 5-6 overall. The Lions will begin Great South Athletic Conference play on Sunday, January 7th as they host Maryville College in Cave Arena beginning at 4:00.
