Drops Four Matches In Centre College Halloween Bash
The
Piedmont College volleyball team dropped four matches on the weekend
at the Centre College Halloween Bash in Danville, Kentucky. The Lady
Lions dropped NCAA South Region contests to host Centre College, Washington
& Lee University, Mt. St. Joseph College, and Randolph Macon College.
In the opening match on Saturday, the
Lady Lions fell to tournament host Centre College 33-31, 30-15, and
30-21. PC then fell to Washington & Lee University who is currently
ranked 6th in the South Region 30-19, 30-21, and 30-24.
On Sunday, the Lady Lions fell to Mt.
St. Joseph College, currently ranked 11th in the nation, 30-21, 30-20,
and 30-26. In the final match, PC fell to Randolph-Macon College who
is ranked 7th in the South Region 30-19, 30-23, and 30-21.
Ashley Landers (pictured) led the Lady
Lions averaging nearly 13 kills per match. Sarah Lane also added a tournament
average of over eight kills per match. B.J. Ostrzycki earned over 26
assists per match for the tournament.
The Lady Lions now stand at 18-16
overall and will return to action again on Saturday, November 5th as
they compete in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament hosted
by Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
