Agnes Scott Pulls Away From PC Women's Soccer Team
The
PC women's soccer team fell to Great South Athletic Conference opponent
Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA this afternoon by the score of 4-1.
After being knotted 1-1 at halftime, the Lady Lions could not recover
from three unanswered goals late in the second half.
After dropping the first goal to Agnes
Scott at the 13:00 minute mark Bergdis Gudnadottir (pictured) earned
PC's only goal of the day on an assist from Brook Bourgeois at the 27:00
minute mark.
The match remained tied for the next 48
minutes, but PC gave up the eventual game-winner at the 75:00 minute
mark. Agnes Scott went on to tack two more insurance goals on at the
88:00 and 89:00 minute marks.
Ashley Parker earned PC's second shot
on goal and Michelle Holland recorded five saves between the posts.
The Loss drops Piedmont to 6-3 overall
and 4-2 in the GSAC. The Lady Lions return to action again on Thursday,
October 6th as they host GSAC opponent Wesleyan College at 7:00 on Walker
Field.
