PC Wins Three Matches In GSAC/SCAC Battle To Open Season

The Piedmont College volleyball team opened the 2005 campaign by posting a perfect 3-0 record in the GSAC/SCAC Battle hosted by Oglethorpe University. The Lady Lions were the only team in the six-team field to go unbeaten over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Lady Lions first defeated Sewanee University 30-11, 30-22, and 30-23. Jacque DeMarrais led the way with 12 kills while Ashley Landers and Meghann Clark chipped-in with nine kills apiece. In the second match Piedmont defeated tournament host Oglethorpe 30-22, 30-28, and 30-17. Landers led the Lady Lions with 16 kills while DeMarrais added 15 kills respectively.

On Sunday, the volleyball team improved to a perfect 3-0 with a victory over Mississippi College by the scores of 24-30, 30-21, 30-23, 23-30, and 15-9. B.J. Ostrzycki (pictured) accumulated a season-high 46 assists en route to the victory.

The Lady Lions will return to action again on Wednesday, September 7th as they travel to North Greenville College in Tigerville, SC with first-serve scheduled for 7:00.
