Top-Seeded Softball Team Advances To GSAC SemifinalsThe Piedmont College softball team scored 18 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 22-0 victory over eighth-seeded Fisk University this afternoon in quarterfinal action of the 2006 Great South Athletic Conference Tournament held at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. The win moves the top-seeded Lady Lions into a semifinal game with fourth-seeded Maryville College.
PC's Heather Denne and May Alves combined to record four hits in five plate appearances while teammate Lindsay Drevloe recorded the victory on the mound allowing only one hit while striking out six.
