Piedmont Men's Golf Team Finishes Tied For Second At Old Bridge Invitational

The Piedmont College men's golf team wrapped up the 2005-2006 season this afternoon with one of its best rounds of the semester as the Lions posted a 14-over 302 which was good for a tie for second-place out of five teams at the Old Bridge Invitational hosted by Centre College in Danville, KY.

Piedmont's Stephen Giddens tied for medalist honors in the 26-player field with an even-par 72. He lost in a sudden-death playoff when Lindsey Wilson College's Zach Wilson rammed home a 40-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole.

Matt Howell and Matt Goodall each posted top-10 finishes as they carded 73 and 76 respectively. Andy Cartwright rounded out the team score for the Lions with an 81.

By virtue of their top-5 finishes, Giddens and Howell were voted to the All-Tournament team.
