Piedmont Plays Well Versus Defending NCAA-III National Champions
The Piedmont College women's golf team
continued its steady improvement as the Lady Lions participated in a
dual match versus nine-time defending NCAA Division-III national champion
Methodist College this afternoon at the MC Golf Course in Fayetteville,
NC.
The host Lady Monarchs posted an eight-over par team score of 292 to
win the 16-player event. Methodist's Charlotte Williams, the defending
individual national champion, was declared medalist after carding and
even par round of 71.
Piedmont's Lynne Laseter played along side Williams and posted the Lady
Lions' low score of the day with a 96. Teammates Maleah Kelly and Jennifer
Hewett also turned in solid rounds of 100 and 101 respectively.
Piedmont will return to action on Tuesday, April 18th when the Lady
Lions travel to Atlanta, GA to face Spelman College in an 18-hole dual
match at Browns Mill Golf Course.
