Softball Team Completes Perfect GSAC Regular-Season
The Piedmont College softball team throttled
Great South Athletic Conference host Fisk University this afternoon
in Nashville, TN by the scores of 58-0 and 17-0. The Lady Lions scored
23 unanswered runs in the third inning of game one and totaled 75 runs
in only ten innings of offense.
Lindsay Drevlow recorded a pair of victories
going a total of six innings allowing only two hits and striking out
eight. Ashley Dunson threw four shutout innings of relief on the day
allowing no runs on three hits.
Every Lady Lions starter tallied a hit
in game one as PC scored in every inning including 32 runs in the final
two innings. Game two was much of the same as the Lady Lions scored
17 runs in two innings en route to victory.
The victories compelete a perfect 14-0
record in Great South Athletic Conference regular season play. PC now
stands at 25-4 overall and will take the field again on Saturday, April
22nd as they compete in the GSAC Championship Tournament at Wesleyan
College in Macon, GA.
