PC Baseball Team Stretches GSAC Winning Streak To Seven
In an offensive slugfest, the Piedmont
College baseball team rallied to defeated Great South Athletic Conference
host Maryville College tonight by the score of 13-9. In a game that
featured three lead changes and the Lions trailing 6-1 in the fifth
inning, Piedmont was able to rally and earn the 13-9 road victory.
Leading the rally offensively was Cole
Spedale who went 4-5 with a double, RBI, a pair of stolend bases, and
three RBI's. Chipping in was Tim Jones who went 2-3 with a double and
an RBI and Justin Oates went 3-5 with a pair of RBI's.
B.J. Hampton threw two and a third innings
of scoreless relief to pick up the victory. Josh Berens pitched a perfect
ninth to seal the four-run victory for the Lions.
PC moves to 21-13 overall and 7-0 in the
Great South Athletic Conference. These two teams will meet tomorrow,
April 14th in the second game of a three-game set with first-pitch scheduled
for 3:00.
