Andy House Hits For The Cycle As Piedmont Defeats Huntingdon 12-5
In
a career night Andy House earned the crowned jewel of offense by hitting
for the cylce and led the Piedmont College baseball team to a 12-5 victory
over visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent Huntingdon College.
House recorded seven RBI's and gained the final leg of the cylce in
dramatic fashion as he hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom
of the eight inning.
The sophomore left-hander started his evening in the third inning with
a single to right. In his next at-bat in the fifth he tripled to right
center field before leading the seventh inning off with a double to
left center.
On the mound Billy Secor threw eight and
a third innings allowing five runs and striking out five. Blake Thomas
recorded the final two outs in a relief appearance.
Evan Nissley chipped-in offensively going
3-1 with two RBI's and three runs scored and Mike Santowski went 2-5
with a pair of RBI's. Justin Oates and Travis Hunt recorded a hit apiece
and both scored a pair of runs.
The victory moves PC to 15-11 overall
and 4-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. These two teams will
square off again tomorrow, April 1st, with game-time set for 3:00.
