Piedmont Defeats Visiting DePauw University 11-7
With a four-run first inning the Piedmont
College baseball team defeated visiting non-conference opponent DePauw
University this afternoon at PC's Loudermilk Field by the score of 11-7.
The Lions dominated the first eight innings and took an 11-2 lead into
the ninth.
Offensively the Lions were impressive
gaining sixteen hits over eight innings. Mike Santowski led the offense
going 3-4 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Stan Brosko chipped
in with three hits and an RBI and Trey McCay went 1-3 with two runs
scored.
Andy Graf picked up his second consecutive
victory on the mound pitching seven hits allowing only one earned run
and striking out four.
The victory moves PC to 14-11 overall.
The Lions return to action again on Friday, March 31st as they open
a three-game Great South Athletic Conference series against defending
tournament champion Huntingdon College at Loudermilk Field starting
at 7:00.
