Piedmont Finishes 23rd At Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational
The Piedmont College men’s golf
team continued its spring semester struggles with a 23rd-place finish
at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational this weekend on The Oleander
Course at Jekyll Island Golf Club. The Lions carded a 54-hole team total
of 338-344-324--1,006.
The 24-team field featured 16 of the nation's top-50 ranked NCAA Division-III
teams including seven teams out of the top-10.
Piedmont's Stephen Giddens posted the Lions' low score with a three-day
total of 81-77-80--238 which was good for a tie for 68th out of 127
golfers.
Piedmont will look to get back into its early-season form on March 31st
through April 2nd when the Lions travel to Jacksonville, NC to take
part in the prestigious 35th Annual Marine Corps Intercollegiate at
Camp LeJeune.
