Piedmont Men's Golf Team Finishes Second At The Orchard Spring Invitational
The host Piedmont College men's golf team
continued its early spring schedule struggles this afternoon with a
runner-up finish at The Orchard 2006 Spring Invitational. The Lions
carded a team score of 341 which was good for second place in the three-team
event.
The tournament was played in tough conditions with gusting winds up
to 40 mph and cold temperatures. Truett-McConnell handled the conditions
and the course the best winning the event with a team score of 327.
TMC's Nathan Rau was low medalist with a seven-over 79.
For Piedmont, Andy Cartwright finished in a tie for second out of 17
golfers with a nine-over 81.
Piedmont returns to action on Sunday, March 19th when the Lions participate
in the Piedmont College vs. Centre College Men's/Women's Challenge.
