PC Extends Winning Streak To Six With Doubleheader Sweep At Spelman
Extending its winning streak to six games,
the Piedmont College softball team defeated Great South Athletic Conference
host Spelman College in Atlanta, GA this afternoon 13-0 and 19-0. In
the first game, the PC offense scored five runs in the first inning
and never looked back tacking on three runs in the third and fourth
innings and two more in the fifth. In game two the Lady Lions scored
ten runs in the first and added nine more in the next four innings to
cruise to the victory.
On the mound Meredith Ray recorded her
fifth victory of the year in game one. Lindsay Drevlow improved her
record to 3-1 with the complete game victory in game two.
Offensively Ray went 4-4 with two RBI's
and a walk. May Alves chipped in going 3-5 with three RBI's and four
runs scored and Mandy Fuston went 3-5 with four RBI's.
The victory moves the Lady Lions to 8-2
overall and 4-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. PC will return
to action again tomorrow as they play their first home games of the
season against Emory & Henry College with game-time set for 1:00.
