Piedmont Throttles Fisk 95-30 To Advance To GSAC Women's Basketball
Semifinals
The Piedmont College women's basketball
team advanced to the semifinals of the Great South Athletic Conference
Tournament this afternoon in Montgomery, AL with a 95-30 pounding of
Fisk University. The Lady Lions jumped out to a 44-10 halftime lead
and never looked back en route to their seventh straight victory and
20th win of the season.
Piedmont's Stephanie Rainwater led four Lady Lions in double-figures
with a team-high 15 points. Kayla Duncan and Sheena Trimiar added 14
and 12 respectively while Jammie Boyce pitched in with 10.
Piedmont forced 31 Fisk turnovers while holding the Lady Bulldogs to
less than 30% from the field.
The win moves to Piedmont to 20-6 overall on the season and advances
the second-seeded Lady Lions to the GSAC Tournament semifinals where
they will take on third-seeded Agnes Scott College tomorrow at 1:00
CST.
