Piedmont Appoints Jimmy Stephens To Head Soccer Programs
The Piedmont College Department of Athletics has announced that former Piedmont College assistant and current Emmanuel College head coach Jimmy Stephens will take over as head coach of both the PC men's and women's soccer programs. The PC alumni returns to campus after posting a 51-60 overall record in five seasons as the head coach at NAIA Emmanuel.

Stephens takes over for former head coach Jason Smith who resigned on June 14th to take the position of head coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks professional team. Stephens was a four-year letter-winner under Smith and a member of PC's first soccer team in 1992.

"We are thrilled to have someone of Jim's experience leading our soccer program. As a Piedmont soccer alum, he brings a unique perspective to the program. His dedication and passion
for Piedmont soccer is genuine," stated Piedmont College Director of Athletics John Dzik.

Stephens grew up in Buford, GA playing soccer since the age of ten. After graduating from PC, Stephens worked at the Soccer Academy in Lilburn, Georgia and continued coaching club teams which he began coaching at age 18.

At Emmanuel, Stephens coached the men’s team for two years, and then helped to start the women’s soccer program in 2002.

Stephens will make his debut as Piedmont's head coach in on September 1st when his teams will host Southern Wesleyan University at PC's Walker Field in a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 PM.

Stephens and his wife, Monica, an admissions counselor at Piedmont, reside in Habersham, GA with their son Noah.
