Piedmont College will hold its summer graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m., July 23, at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center in Demorest. A total of 307 students and their families will be on hand for the annual summertime event.

The graduates include students who will receive Bachelor of Arts diplomas in the Arts and Sciences, Business and Education, as well as students earning Master of Arts degrees in Business and Education.

The Commencement speaker will be Dr. Philip Lanoue, superintendent of the Clarke County School District. Lanoue has served as assistant superintendent in Cobb County, and he was a principal for 18 years at schools in Massachusetts and his home state of Vermont. Lanoue has twice been named a Principal of the Year, and he has served on the advisory board for The Principal’s Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
