The Piedmont College Creativity Speaker Series will continue in November with presentations Nov. 11 and Nov. 17 by two entrepreneurial business developers.
Both events are free and open to the public and will be held in Commons Hall at the Piedmont Athens Campus located at 595 Prince Ave. Each event will include lunch at noon, followed by the speaker at 12:30 p.m.
On Nov. 11, Lisa Boone, a vice president with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney of Atlanta, brings her wit and knowledge of the professional business world and will discuss her success as a business developer, restaurant owner and financial advisor. Following graduation from The University of South Carolina, Lisa spent 18 years working in resort and real estate marketing, having spent most of that time on the South Carolina coast, Colorado, and Atlanta.
On Nov. 17, Piedmont graduate Tom Bohannon will discuss his roles in start-up information technology firms. Tom co-founded Pharsalia Technologies Inc., which was later acquired by Nortel Networks. He later co-founded SteelBox Networks, a company that enables the network storage and retrieval of large amounts of video data. Bohannon served as CFO from company inception until major venture capital funding was secured in July of 2006. He is currently involved with BlackRidge Technology, an early-stage startup based in Reston, Va.
