Piedmont holds July graduation

Piedmont College held summer Commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center in Demorest.

Some 347 students collected their degrees, including 11 undergraduates receiving Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Ten graduates received Master of Business Administration Degrees, and 34 new teachers received Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. Another 159 teachers earned Master of Arts degrees, and 132 earned Education Specialist degrees. The college also awarded one Doctor of Education degree during the ceremony.

Speakers for the Commencement included graduate Randell King of Hull, a member of the Class of 2012; William S. Loyd, Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement; and Professor of English, Dr. Lisa Hodgens.
