Welcome to Trillium, Piedmont College's Journal of Art and Literature!

Trillium was first published in 2006 as a project of Dr. Lisa Hodgens's English 392/492 Poetry Writing class, who continued to publish a yearly issue until 2009 when Dr. Siân Griffiths took over the editorial reins as part of the new English 400 Publications class. Griffiths moved the journal from a print format to an on-line publication and opened the journal to artistic and musical submissions as well as poetry and prose. In 2010, Dr. Griffiths partnered with Graphic Design professor Kaitlin Wilson Botts who, with her team of students, constructed a bold new website that would better represent the history of the journal, the college, and our two campuses.

This year, Instructor Heidi Lynn Staples has been coordinator and co-editor for the English course and Professor Kaitlin Botts has continued to facilitate the design class that produces and designs the publication. 2012 also marks the first year the publication has a full budget meaning that the journal has been printed by a professional printer.

Any students interested in working on the forthcoming issues of Trillium are encouraged to enroll in English 400. There are no pre-requisites except enthusiasm, a desire to learn, and a willingness to have fun. We need students from all backgrounds with a variety of skills and aesthetic tastes.

Any students interested in the design and production of Trillium are encouraged to enroll in GRDS 330:Publication Layout in the Spring of 2013.
